ABOUT ALAGE

This is the website of the Latinamerican Association of Space Geophysics (ALAGE). Space Geophysics is an interdisciplinary scientific branch born in the twentieth century of great importance today. Includes Earth space research as the study of the middle atmosphere, the ionosphere and magnetosphere, interplanetary medium, cosmic rays, planets, comets, asteroids, the Sun and the solar-terrestrial relationships.
The ALAGE was created in 1993 by unanimous resolution of participants of the Latinamerican Conference of Space Geophysics (COLAGE III). It aims to be a scientific civil and autonomous entity responsible for promoting the development of research on specific issues of space geophysics. Which will be done taking advantage of the human resources, the cultural unity and similarity of economic conditions in the region. Likewise, it seeks to complement existing traditional activities of regional geophysical and astronomical organizations.

Mario Acuña

The Mario H. Acuña Prize is awarded to a distinguished scientist, employed by an education and/or research institution in Latin America, whose work has been outstanding to create scientific infrastructure for research in Space Science (terrestrial or on board of spacecrafts) in one or more countries of the region.

roberto manzano

Roberto Manzano

This award is granted to the best contribution presented in COLAGE that has a student as the first author. One award will be given per each of the COLAGE sessions.

Ruth Gall

Ruth Gall

This award is be given to a distinguished researcher who has collaborated
significantly with more than one scientific group from Latin American Institutions
despite the fact that he/she was not affiliated to any Latin American Institution.
