Sad day for ALAGE community

Sad day for ALAGE

Dr Marcos Machado, former ALAGE’s president, passed away

Dear members of the International Space Community,

We were deeply saddened to learn the passing away of Marcos Machado, and we would like to express our sincere sympathy to his family, friends, and colleagues. Marcos was a great and well respected space scientist, a leader and a supporter of the LatinAmerican Space Science community. He was one of the founding members of the LatinAmerican Association of Space Geophysics (ALAGE) and lately, as former president, he worked for the advancement of the international recognition of the Association. He was always a strong supporter of the collaboration between LatinAmerican countries and was regarded as a visionary leader by anyone who had the chance to work with him. His leadership and commitment will be missed.

With sincere sympathy,

Dr. Juan Alejandro Valdivia

President of ALAGE
